January 2024 Stitching Plans

🎇🥳HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE 🥳🎇

I hope everyone had a great time over Christmas and is ready for 2024.

I’m pretty sure I have already bitten off more than I can chew but that is usual for me. I fantasise about all the things I want to do without having any thought of it being realistic. Dream Big or Go Home…. Isn’t that the saying? 😂😂

So read on if you want to see what I wish to be working on this month 🧞🧞‍♀️🧞‍♂️

Each month I am hoping to work on 3-4 WIPs. WIPgo and I Dare You SAL will determine what I will work on each month and if by a miracle, I have enough time to fit in another WIP I have created the Wheel of Full Coverage WIPS to decide on the 4th project.

WIPgo

The numbers called for January are:

9 - Gangster Marilyn

22 - Kelly Eden

I Dare You SAL

Sarah called the order for the SAL and the first WIP is:

2 - Quilted Heels

I will be working on this wip each month until it is completed. hopefully it won't take me too long.  Backstitching part is not thrilling me as they count has half a stitch in all the challenges but it will all look lush in the end.

Wheel of Full Coverage

I have spun the Wheel and I hope to put 500 stitches into:

Zebracorn

Ok so that’s 4 WIPs for January 2024.

I’ve decided on the events that will help me  this month:

Myth and Magic Round 3 starts on 01/01/2024  I’m stitching as a Werewolf in the Werewolf Clan and I'm hoping to get some stitchy time in every day.  My baby is getting to the point where he is enjoying some play time on the mat or he can be bewitched by the television for a short period of time so I'm hoping I can fit in some stitching at this time.  So I need to set up my stitchy spot to be able to just stitch as and when I can. I'm totally going to use Gangster Marily for this one as it is the least confetti heavy wip for this month.

Semi Sane Stitchers have a monthly event called This or That and it’s based on a colour or shape. It’s a non counting event which is easy. This month is White or Circles so thinking Kelly Eden will be good for this as the butterflies has little white circles on their wings 😁😁.

The group also has a 24 in’24 challenge where I have chosen to stitch 24 hours per month and the hours can be divided between all the WIPs  🤞🏻🍀 wish me luck 🍀 🤞🏻

Wip Warriors has a month event called Scattergories and I’m so excited to start linking the WIPs too the categories  I think this is my favourite thing; finding WIPs to fit challenges. Once the Letter has been announced I can begin finding links beginning with the Letter and then stitching them.  This is a non counting event so I can just aim for progress with the time I have available and still "win" the event (it's not a competition but if I stitch WIPs for each category then I WIN!"

They are also doing the Great Aussie Road Trip which I’m hoping to do, although at this point I’m wondering if I’ll be able to keep up with everyone, but we will see how I get on 🤞🤞🤞

Magical Stitches yearly challenge has been officially revealed but the rules has changed a little and each round increment of 500 stitches so Level 1- Identify the creature is 500 stitches, Level 2 - Study the Creature is 1000 stitches, Level 3 - Feed the Creature is 1500 stitches and finally Level 4 - Befriend the creature is 2000 stitches.  This feels impossible for me but I'm still going to attempt it.  Just need to figure out the best way to tackle it, either way I'm going to start with500 stitches to Identify an Alux. Now I just need to google what it is because I've NO IDEA 😂

New start

I’m in two minds if I am to have a new start or not. Normally it is my tradition to have a new start every year on my birthday. If I do it’s a choice between:

Magenta Morning Sakura by Geckorouge or Dr Huh? By Tilton Crafts

The Crowley on my shoulder is chanting “Do it do it!” and the Cas on the other is saying “remember the 6 finishes you want next year”.  We’ll see who will win on the day 😈😇

I think that's it for today, I'll keep you updated . Please post a comment with what you are doing in January and link your blog/video/instagram etc so I can check out your stitching xx

xxxx Happy new year everyone and Happy Stitching xxxx

WIPocalypse Check In January 2024

This month has been rather productive and it surprised me, especially since a I’ve a busy home life. 🤱🏻 This month I stitched a total of 2,741 stitches over the 5 WIPs I had picked out for January: January WIPS WIPgo block 9 - Gangster 630 stitches completed whilst playing the Myths and Magic Wars for round 3, and first level for the Alux creature in Magical StItches. Not a page finish yet but I’m hoping Marilyn will come up again on the Full Coverage Wheel soon in order to get the rest of the stitches done before the end of the year. WIPgo block 22 - Kelly Eden Kelly Eden is my success story for January. 1104 stitches done and I hit my page finish goal for this wip. Awesomeness!!! This wip was part of the Muth and Magic Wars and completed 2nd level for the Alux creature.  I thoroughly enjoyed stitching on this one and can’t wait to stitch on it again.  I Dare You Sal WIP - Quilted Heels This is my ongoing IDY Sal project that I will have each month until it is finished. 2024 Stitching Plans

I hope everyone is ready for the Christmas holidays and have some quality time to spend with the family and friends xx I have been spending a lot of time thinking about how I’m to tackle my stitching in 2024. I’m going to roughly do the same as last year: 4 New Starts Allowed: 1 per quarter. Birthday New Start will be in 1st quarter if I decide to have a new start.  Each wip to have 500 stitches put into it before moving onto the next wip. Each wip must be worked at least twice during 2024.  (this is due to WIPgo and Magical Stitches Yearly Challenge). Focus to finish months June & December: wips that have been called by WIPgo are eligible for Focus to Finish month.  Aim to finish 6 WIPs in 2024. Aim to work on 3-4 WIPs a month So with these guidelines in mind (all of which are stolen from my friend Sabea - if it works for her I’m sure it’ll work for me 👍🏻) all I needed to do was find some stitching groups and games on Facebook to help me get the stitches in and sta...
